APN Partner Questions & Answers
The Architectural Partner Network is designed for contractors, consultants, suppliers and specialist trades who want to be positioned in front of homeowners already planning extension, refurbishment and home improvement projects.
Below we have answered some of the most common questions about how APN membership works, how referrals are made, and what partners can expect from joining the network.
APN is not a pay-per-lead platform. Membership is based on partner positioning, category allocation and relevant referral opportunities within agreed service areas.
Is APN a lead-generation company?
No. APN is not a traditional lead-generation company and does not sell individual leads.
Our referrals come from homeowners who are already engaging with architectural design, planning, Building Regulations or related property services. This means APN Partners are introduced in a more relevant project context than general advertising or directory enquiries.
Do you charge per lead?
No. APN does not charge per lead or per enquiry.
Partners pay a monthly membership fee for positioning within the network, agreed category coverage and access to relevant referral opportunities. There are no individual lead charges.
Are referrals guaranteed?
No. APN does not guarantee lead volumes, project instructions or return on investment.
Referral opportunities depend on client demand, project type, location, partner category and suitability. APN provides partner positioning and referral opportunities, not guaranteed work.
How are partners selected?
Partners are reviewed before acceptance.
We look at trade category, service area, experience, website or online presence, references, insurance, trading history and general suitability. Membership may be declined where we do not feel there is a suitable fit.
Can more than one partner cover the same trade?
Yes, but membership is controlled.
Availability depends on the trade category, package level, territory and local demand. APN aims to avoid oversaturation so that partner value is protected.
What areas does APN cover?
APN is being built across London, the Home Counties and selected surrounding regions.
Partner availability is assessed by territory, trade category and service coverage. Some areas and categories may have limited availability.
What types of businesses can join APN?
APN is suitable for contractors, approved inspectors, structural engineers, surveyors, kitchen suppliers, window and door companies, landscapers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, decorators, specialist consultants and other home improvement professionals.
The network is focused on businesses that are relevant to extension, refurbishment, conversion, renovation and residential improvement projects.
How do referrals work?
Where a homeowner needs a relevant service, APN may introduce or recommend suitable partners based on category, location and project requirements.
Referrals may come through architectural project discussions, planning-stage advice, Building Regulations preparation, pre-construction planning or client requests for trusted local professionals.
Will I receive the client’s details directly?
Where appropriate, yes.
The method of referral may vary depending on the nature of the enquiry. In some cases, the homeowner may be given partner details. In other cases, APN may forward the enquiry or make an introduction.
Do I need to be VAT registered?
Not necessarily.
VAT registration is not compulsory for all partner categories, but we do ask for accurate business information so we can assess suitability and present businesses professionally.
Do I need insurance?
Yes, suitable insurance is expected.
The type of insurance required will depend on your trade or profession, but partners should hold appropriate public liability, professional indemnity or trade-specific cover where relevant.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, subject to the membership terms agreed when you join.
APN memberships are monthly, but cancellation terms may depend on the selected package, direct debit arrangement and any agreed minimum membership period.
Can APN remove a partner from the network?
Yes.
APN reserves the right to remove or suspend partners where there are concerns about client service, poor workmanship, misleading information, complaints, non-payment or conduct that may damage the reputation of the network.
Is APN suitable for new businesses?
Possibly.
We may consider newer businesses where there is strong experience, clear service quality, good communication, suitable insurance and credible references. However, APN is best suited to businesses that are ready to deal professionally with homeowner enquiries.
How do I apply?
You can apply by completing the APN Partner Membership Application form.
Once received, we will review your details and confirm whether your category and service area are currently suitable for membership.
Is How long does it take to review an APN Partner application?
We aim to review partner applications within 5 / 8 working days.
As part of the review, we may check your service category, location coverage, website or online presence, insurance position, references and general suitability for the network. Some applications may take longer where further information is required or where we need to review category availability within a specific territory.
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. APN membership is subject to review, suitability and availability.
